"Cloverfield" consists of 7 freehold titles and is approx. 25km inland from Burnie on Tasmania"s well known and fertile north west coast.
Water is sourced from 4 main dams. A further 30 acres is irrigated by traveler. Dams are topped up by 2 bores, 8,500 gallons/hr and 2.500 gallons/hr.
Originally milking 330 cows with 2/3 calving in spring and 1/3 calving in autumn as well as growing 35 acres of potatoes, the property has recently been focused on all milk and increased cow numbers to 350 cows, with 2/3 calving in spring and 1/3 calving in autumn. Numbers could be substantially increased by moving to all spring calving. The property is on track to produce over 162,000 kg milk solids.
The dairy features a 50 unit fully automated Alfa de Laval rotary platform with a 30,000L milk silo. The concrete yard can hold 600 cows. Two silos of 20 tonne capacity and 22 tonnes provide mixed grain to cows through an automated feeding system.
The pH of soil is approximately 6.4 and fertiliser has been applied in regular applications.
There are two homes on the property, the main home with 3 bedrooms, all with built ins and having a sunny aspect; the second home also having 3 bedrooms with 2 big living areas.
Sheds include a workshop, 2 hay barns and a calf shed.
